Student does not waste materials in the classroom.
Student models for others how to recycle and reuse. (e.g. by showing another student where the recycle bin is located.)
Student researches and presents to others issues regarding environmental issues in their community and/or the world (e.g. by creating a poster about ocean pollution or global warming, etc.)
Student participates in ecologically sound activities (e.g. campus beautification, beach clean up, repurposing materials, etc.)
O is for Opportunity
Student knows that the information presented must be learned. (e.g. by remaining curious and open to new information.)
Student gives others the opportunity to learn by engaging in the lessons appropriately (e.g. by taking turns, raising hands, being silent when others speak, etc.)
Student encourages others to learn during independent work.
Student helps others learn.
A is for Academic Integrity
Student demonstrates responsibility for his/her schoolwork (e.g. by completing assignments.)
Student demonstrates honesty in his/her schoolwork (e.g. by showing his/her own work and not that of others.)
Student demonstrates fairness in his/her interactions with other students (e.g. by admitting mistakes, by playing by the rules, etc.)
Student demonstrates high expectations for him/herself and others (e.g. by showing seriousness about schoolwork.)
R is for Reflection
Student reflects on his/her actions and learning (e.g. by explaining own mistakes and by showing a determination to correct them.)
Student believes that he/she can learn through effort (e.g. by maintaining a positive attitude towards learning in general, by staying curious, and by working hard.)
Student speaks of attitudes that reflect a growth mindset (e.g. by saying “I can accomplish this”, “If I work hard, I will understand”, etc.)

Student includes other members of a group during class work and play (e.g. by calling on other students to share what they know, by not rejecting others while forming sport teams, etc.)
